I am 35 years old and live in South Louisiana. I’ve been married 16 years and have 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl). We homeschool our children using books, online classes, and extracurricular activities. Obviously this means I’m a stay at home mom, because there is no way I could have an outside job and do this; I’m just not that talented.
I’m Catholic, have been since I was baptized at about 2 weeks old. I’ve seen the pictures; I sure wasn’t happy that day. But it got better and I’m glad for it now. I don’t really go in for labels (traditional, liberal, conservative, and so on). I love the Church and I believe what she teaches. The end.
I have two dogs and 1 cat and if I could talk my husband into it, we’d have a lot more. Alas, his common sense (“how would we feed all of them?”) has defeated me so far. Instead, I rescue every animal I can. Dogs, cats, snakes, spiders, mice, lizards, turtles, rabbits, etc… I make no distinctions. The only animals I can bring myself to kill are those in my yard or house that pose a serious threat to my family. I don’t have a problem with meat or hunters (I married one and raising three), *I* just can’t do it.
I have several hobbies I enjoy when I can. I am a black belt in Shotokan karate and a white belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I’m out in my garden almost everyday and I expand it a tiny bit every year. I’m learning to bake and decorate cakes. I enjoy crocheting on cold winter nights. I like archery and range shooting. I have a serious book addiction, which I have passed on to my family (the laundry room is the only place without a bookcase). Oh, and of course, writing!
I’m typically a private, quiet person. So much so that this blog is written under a pen name. I can either be completely honest or I can tell you my name. I can’t do both.
I think those are the high points. If you’re curious about something, just drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
